The Dynamips access was cool. I have my own Dynamips hypervisor at home running constantly, but having it like this rather than having to recreate it can be a little easier (especially when I don't use GNS3 so it takes a bit longer than pointing and clicking)

I think its a fantastic idea! Anyone who messes around with networks should have a quick dynamips session they can fire up and load a .net in. I usually get a random topology like this up at least once a day to just to mess around with.

You got it! I told you guys this was an easy one. It may even look familiar to some.

How do you guys feel about the Dynamips access? Any thoughts or complaints?

R1>sh mpls ldp discovery
Local LDP Identifier:
    1.1.1.1:0
    Discovery Sources:
    Interfaces:
        Serial0/0 (ldp): xmit/recv
            LDP Id: 2.2.2.2:0; no route

R2>sh mpls ldp discovery
Local LDP Identifier:
    2.2.2.2:0

    Interfaces:
        Serial0/0 (ldp): xmit/recv
            LDP Id: 1.1.1.1:0; no route

That to me would say that it can't reach the interface/IP associated with the router to use for LDP, so therefore it cannot establish an adjacency. Either advertising the loopbacks via OSPF, or setting up static routes, would sort this out.

That's only a hunch though, I've not done a huge amount with LDP, so I could be way off base.

UPDATE: I’ve created another Dynamips server in a VM. Telnet to dynamips.alwaysthenetwork.com:2001 for R1 and dynamips.alwaysthenetwork.com:2002 for R2, username: tshoot and password: tshoot.

At the moment only one person can connect at a time. I’ll need to figure if it’s possible to allow multiple console sessions in Dynamips.

Maybe I'll create another Dynamips VM and make it accessible externally. Then you guys can login and mess with it yourselves...
